Who am I?
Born and raised in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania I grew up in a Trinidadian home. Where music and creativity flowed freely, I was always under the impression that stability was what mattered most in this life, that my parents came from another country and worked really hard so I must do my best to make them proud and pay them back in a way. Not only was I able to live a comfortable life, I was also able to cultivate my drawing skills with my mother’s encouragement and it meant a lot to me. As I got older I started to feel as though I owed it to her to even more to have a sense of stability, so I set out to college to be a history teacher. That didn’t work out. I had to have the hardest conversation of my life, not only explaining how much I appreciate her sacrifice but also how much I genuienly love to illustrate. At first she wasn’t supportive because of the circumstances, but after seeing my work she became some what of a super believer. Even then I still had the lingering feeling of familial debt, like I owed it to her to ue my illustration degree to go corporate and provide that stability. My mom snapped me out of it, she said “ I work so hard not just for you to get a chance at an education but to also live out your wildest dreams, I am your number one fan...I will always be proud of you.” So I set out on my journey to spread my art, story, and immence sense of hope for creative sucess and financial freedom.
